Our Privacy Policy

Who we are

Founded in 2014, and then very quickly abandoned, Frankly Jenn (hereinafter referred to as “the Service”) is an online lifestyle magazine for people with a sense of humor. It is edited and published by Jenn Frank.

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data (or “Personal Data”) when you use our Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Personal Data is not just created by your interactions with this website. Personal Data is also generated from technical processes such as contact forms, comments, cookies, analytics, and third-party embeds.

Usage

We may collect information on how the Service is accessed and used (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the length of time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.

With this data, we can glean a clearer idea of what works, what doesn’t, and how the Service might better serve visitors’ needs in the future.

Tracking and cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service, and we hold certain information.

Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. Other tracking technologies might also be used, like beacons, tags, and scripts, to collect and track information that helps us analyze and improve our Service.

We use Session Cookies to operate our Service. We use Security Cookies for security purposes.

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Portions of the website may not work when you choose to disable cookies.

You can electively decide which cookies are enabled or, alternatively, disable all cookies, by using a browser add-on like uBlock, AdBlock, Ghostery, Disconnect, or Privacy Badger.

Analytics

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service.

Frankly Jenn currently uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service that tracks and reports website traffic to its clients. Google uses the data it collects to track and monitor the use of our Service.

This data might be shared with other Google services. Google is permitted to use the data it collects to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

You can opt-out of giving your Personal Data to Google by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents Google Analytics’ JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js and dc.js) from sharing information with Google about your browser’s activity.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

We may employ third-party companies and individuals (“Service Providers”) to facilitate our Service, provide the Service on our behalf, perform Service-related services, or assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

What rights you have over your data

You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Frankly Jenn aims to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data.

If you wish to be informed about what Personal Data we hold about you, or if you want it to be removed from our systems, please contact us.
